Project Description:
Our team recently completed a comprehensive driveway installation and resurfacing project for a residential property in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. This service was engineered to resolve critical drainage issues, establish a solid structural base, and provide a smooth, long-lasting asphalt finish for the entire driveway.

The project began with targeted cold milling in strategic areas to adjust the grade and guarantee adequate clearance along existing structures. Precise elevation management was essential to ensure water effectively drains away from the home’s foundation, preventing costly water accumulation and erosion. Following the milling process, our crew added gravel to the sub-base, grading and thoroughly compacting it to create a stable, load-bearing foundation.

Over this prepared aggregate base, we paved a heavy-duty base coat of asphalt. This initial layer provides the core structural integrity needed to support daily vehicular loads and prevent future settling. Once the base coat was fully compacted and rolled, we proceeded to resurface the entire driveway with a premium wearing course. This final top layer seamlessly tied the new base sections together with the rest of the driveway, creating a dense, uniform, and smooth surface.

In Western Pennsylvania, proper drainage planning and deep compaction are vital to protect the pavement from cracking during harsh winter freeze-thaw cycles. By combining precise milling for runoff control with a strong multi-layer asphalt design, we delivered a durable, high-performing driveway that enhances both the utility and curb appeal of the property. From scheduling to completion, the coordinator and crew were courteous and professional.  They held the schedule and budget inline with the quotation. We have a large driveway that was a huge eyesore with many many cracks and potholes. The crew from JR removed the top layer and resurfaced the entire driveway, doing much of the work by hand as we have deck posts that complicated the job. They brought a large crew, who were all extremely nice to work with and very professional, despite working on a 95 degree day. The crew left the job site spotless, including the street and sidewalk outside of ours and our neighbors houses. Shannon was particularly great to work with, giving us detailed advice on how to keep the driveway looking great for the next decade. From beginning to the end of the paving job they kept us well informed. Our neighbors just had theirs paved. After seeing ours they said their job doesn't come close to ours.
