Enlarging and resurfacing project
Client Testimonial: Our private road was a total mess but the crew did some extensive prework to level the surfaces before the actual paving. The results were incredible and honestly beyond our expectations. We would highly recommend them for anything small, big, or even bigger!
Amazing work: A+++++
Project Address: Bradfood Woods, PA
Project Description: Our team recently completed a large-scale asphalt paving and property expansion project for a residence in Bradford Woods, Pennsylvania. This comprehensive project was designed to seamlessly integrate a new 4,500 square foot driveway expansion with the existing layout, while completely restoring the original 3,390 square foot driveway for a unified, heavy-duty surface totaling 7,890 square feet.
The first phase of the project focused on the 4,500 square foot expansion area. Our crew cleared and lightly graded the raw subgrade to establish proper elevation and ensure correct water drainage away from the home’s foundation. We then added a crushed stone aggregate base as needed, compacting it thoroughly to build a stable, load-bearing foundation. Over this prepared base, we paved a thick, 3-inch top coat of high-performance hot-mix asphalt, compressing it with heavy-duty rollers to eliminate air pockets and ensure structural density.
Simultaneously, we prepped the original 3,390 square foot driveway area for resurfacing. After thoroughly clearing the old surface of all debris and treating any underlying flaws, we applied a specialized tack coat to act as a binding agent. We then overlaid this entire section with the matching hot-mix asphalt, perfectly blending the old and new sections into a singular, continuous pavement.
Throughout the installation, achieving a consistent grade across the massive 7,890 square foot surface was our primary technical focus. Given the changing terrain of the Bradford Woods area, precise slope management was critical to prevent water pooling and ensure long-term durability against the freeze-thaw cycles of Pennsylvania winters.
By combining rigorous sub-base preparation with deep compaction standards, we have delivered a smooth, high-capacity driveway built to withstand heavy traffic and severe weather. This project highlights our technical expertise in managing complex residential excavations and large-scale asphalt paving.
