Mill and Pave Driveway project
Project Type: Mill and Pave driveway
Project Address: Gibsonia, PA
Project Description:
Our team recently completed a professional mill-and-pave driveway restoration project for a property in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania. This service was designed to completely renew an aging asphalt driveway, restoring a smooth, durable surface without raising the overall elevation or compromising surrounding drainage lines.
The project began with cold milling the entire driveway surface down to a uniform depth of 2 inches. Milling removes the deteriorated, cracked top layer of old asphalt while preserving the intact, structural sub-base underneath. This process creates a clean, textured profile that ensures an exceptional bond with the new material and maintains precise flush transitions along garage aprons, walkways, and road edges.
Once the milled area was thoroughly swept and cleared of all loose millings and debris, we applied a high-performance 9.5mm wearing-course asphalt. Our technicians paved the top coat at a thickness of 2.5 inches, providing slightly more material than the milled depth to allow for optimal compaction. Using heavy-duty commercial rollers, we compacted the hot-mix asphalt down to a dense, seamless 2-inch finish, eliminating air pockets and sealing the surface against moisture penetration.
To finalize the installation, our crew carefully sealed all exposed outer edges and perimeter joints. In Western Pennsylvania, proper edge sealing and surface density are essential to prevent water from seeping into seams and expanding during harsh winter freeze-thaw cycles.
By utilizing precise milling techniques and rigorous compaction standards, we delivered a long-lasting, heavy-duty driveway that significantly enhances the property's curb appeal and functionality. This project highlights our technical expertise in asphalt resurfacing and residential pavement maintenance.
